At this conference, several topics will be discussed: What takes away and what gives the courage to speak the truth in public? How does the present enter into thinking through the prism of categories such as “Enlightenment” and “critique”?What might it mean (beyond the usual horizon of expectations) to do philosophy, to talk about philosophy, but also to live philosophically?

The participants come from 4 academic and research institutions. The organizer is the Bulgarian publisher of Foucault’s books and their director, a long-time translator of Foucault into Bulgarian.

The conference will establish a Bulgarian “Foucault Circle”.
