This activity proposes a roundtable discussion with invited guests, scholars, writers, historians and theorists, who have employed and developed the Foucauldian thinking in the disciplines of architectural and urban history and theory, critical theory of space and geography. The discussion will be focused on the exploration of approaches to writing critical history that Michel Foucault proposed and the ways in which these have been employed as tools in the investigation of knowledge and power relations as they implicate and are related to issues of space. Hence, architectures, spaces and historical formations that have also been problematized by Michel Foucault in his lectures and writings will become sites of investigation. The aim of this roundtable is to unpack the complexity of Foucauldian thinking through its implications and effects upon studies in architecture and spatial practices.
