Seminar: Resistance and Pleasure in Foucault: Recovering a lost connection?
Foucault’s contributions to the notions of power and resistance have significantly impacted the social sciences and the humanities. Nevertheless, Foucault’s exploration of pleasure and subjectification processes are frequently examined independently of his discussions on power and resistance. This seminar aims to bring together transdisciplinary scholars and a decolonial perspective through which to reinterpret aspects of Foucault’s work that may have been overlooked, lost, or not studied in conjunction. This holistic outlook seeks to rethink Westernized understandings of the power-resistance-pleasure nexus.
